Protection of the rainforest
Acción Ecológica is an organization in Ecuador that has been working to preserve and protect the Amazon rainforest for many years. At the same time, the rights of the indigenous population, who are directly affected by the consequences of the burning and deforestation of the Amazon, are also protected. The rainforest in Ecuador is being cleared mainly for drilling for oil, but also for the cultivation of animal feed. Acciòn Ecològica is actively working on awareness raising, demonstrations and projects to stop the rainforest from being cut down in the first place. During the first Covid 19 lockdown, over 4,000 barrels of crude oil were released during one of the largest oil spills of the time, contaminating several tributaries of the Amazon. This accident directly affected 97,000 people. Therefore, the organization is forming a Truth, Justice and Reparations Commission composed of defenders from different areas. This commission has the goal of permanently monitoring rights, tracking the different reports and conducting a regular review of the environmental surveys at the end of each government. Our donation to Acciòn Ecològica helps to preserve the basic rights of many people.

Planting trees for a better world
Plant for the Planet is about more than 91,000 children and young people worldwide pursuing a great mission: Plant 1 trillion (1,000 billion) trees. In special academies, children can become ambassadors themselves and motivate others to plant trees. Initiator Felix Finkbeiner founded Plant for the Planet at the age of 9. The first part of our donation was used to train more climate ambassadors. The second part has already helped trees to be planted on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. There, 20,000 new seedlings are planted every day, which then become part of the more than 13.6 billion trees already planted. 1 trillion trees could absorb a quarter of man-made CO2 emissions and generate prosperity in the Global South.

Protecting sharks through ecotourism
Madison Stewart was awarded the Australian Youth Conservationist of the Year Award in 2017. She is also known as “Shark girl” because she started diving with sharks in her teens. Every year, over 100 million sharks are slaughtered for their fins or meat, or end up as by-catch in fishing nets and die. Since many areas in Indonesia are already overfished and many fishermen often only have shark fishing as a source of income, the number of sharks killed per hunting trip is very high. Madison has launched Project HIU in Indonesia to provide an alternative source of income through ecotourism. With our support, Madison connects different projects: On the one hand, it brings diving tourists to the village who are allowed to go with the fishermen to admire sharks instead of killing them. This also brings the fishermen closer to the love of these animals. Furthermore, it also teaches children about the necessity of these animals in the sea and therefore builds an understanding of the importance of sharks.

School education and drinking water wells for Ethiopia
SANUSLIFE has been supporting the foundation Fondazione Butterfly with 1% of its annual net sales since 2016. With these donations, five drinking water wells, the renovation of several dry wells, two schools with rainwater collection systems and water tanks, as well as several classrooms including equipment were built in different regions of Ethiopia by 2020. Millions of people worldwide have no access to clean drinking water. The cooperation with the Italian foundation "Fondazione Butterfly onlus" is very close to our hearts, as it takes care of both the efficient distribution of donations and the realization of the projects. Hundreds of families in Oddarena, Eso, Adonago, Kokhit, Haryayato, Gamada and Meday are already benefiting from this support. The fierce and still ongoing war in the Tigray region does not currently allow the foundation to work directly for the people on the ground. The region has been heavily affected by 20 years of civil war. In addition, there is a social and economic crisis, extreme poverty and the destruction of the physical infrastructure.

Protect sea turtles from poaching
Mayotte is a small island next to Madagascar, but it belongs to France. Thousands of female turtles come ashore there every year to lay their eggs in the sand. If we consider that out of 1,000 hatched baby turtles, on average only one lives long enough to lay eggs itself, the situation of these animals is devastating. There are many reasons for these figures. Due to all the rubbish on the beach, the babies do not find their way into the sea after hatching, they are not infrequently eaten by stray dogs, cats or birds of prey, run in the wrong direction due to the light from the nearby tourist buildings on the beach instead of following the moonlight, or are caught and sold by poachers. Unfortunately, those female turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs are also poached. They are slaughtered before they can even do their important job, because after laying eggs, the meat, which can be sold for a lot of money, is said to become bitter. However, this also means that the entire next generation is wiped out along with the slaughtered female turtle. The ASVM consists of a group of volunteers, not infrequently even refugees from Africa, who patrol the beaches of Mayotte night after night to protect the animals and generally make the area safer. Our donation helps to preserve turtles, because right now all seven species of sea turtles are threatened with extinction.

Water wells for Cambodia
In 2013, water runner Fritz Kieninger ran for 16 days over 750 km through Cambodia to build 16 drinking water wells. In 2016, he then became the first person to cover a distance of 900km from Vietnam to Thailand in 18 days. This time with the aim of having 18 wells built. In the meantime, the founder of KAKIHE and his team have built over 365 wells throughout Cambodia to give people access to clean drinking water. Well No. 365 is located in Koas Takem village in Trorpang Preas commune, Kam Pong Cham and was made possible by the SANUSPLANET Foundation. It is 35 meters deep and offers water for 199 families. The construction of a village well is feasible with an amount of €1,600. In addition to improving the quality of life through clean drinking water, the association is particularly concerned about the education of children and young people. It is precisely in this area that help for self-help can be provided in the long term.

Illegal fishing and protection of the marine ecosystem
OceansAsia's mission is to expose illegal fishing and wildlife crimes. Marine ecosystems are being destroyed and polluted. This is where OceansAsia invests and acts to bring those responsible to justice. With our support, IUU campaigns are co-funded, patrolling and documenting in Hong Kong's southern waters. The results will be forwarded to the Hong Kong Marine Police so that new fishing laws can be passed. It is especially important to prevent fishing methods with fish traps and snake nets, because they take everything on the seabed. Our donation will finance this operation for 2 months.

Tree cavity for wild honey bees
The wild honey bee is almost extinct in the Swiss nature! At the same time, the honey bee is intensively kept by beekeepers as a farm animal for honey production. Therefore, FreeTheBees is the only independent Swiss organization dedicated to wild honey bees, training beekeepers in near-natural beekeeping, establishing natural habitats and documenting and researching bees. One unique project, for example, is the FreeTheBees tree cavity project: by creating around 300 tree cavities, the ecological infrastructure in the Swiss forest is supplemented for honey bees and many other tree cavity-dwelling species. Thus, FreeTheBees makes an important contribution to more biodiversity and nature conservation. The goal of our donation is to increase the number of usable tree hollows as quickly as possible in order to ensure the protection of many species and species communities threatened with extinction. A tree hollow is created at the average cost of 3.000 € and is cared for in the long term.

Education and advocacy for animal rights and plant-based nutrition in Nepal
The Animal Rights Club (ARC) was founded in 2012 with the main goal of reducing traditional animal sacrifice. However, it also advocates for the rescue of stray animals, the welfare of captive elephants, wildlife conservation, environmental protection, and especially the promotion of veganism in the community. For the past 10 years, ARC has been working for animal justice with the help of dedicated volunteers. To promote animal justice and a plant-based diet in the community, ARC organizes documentary screenings of the film "Maa Ka Doodh - Uncovering a Nation's Disaster" at various locations in Chitwan, including discussions about the untold stories behind the success of India's White Revolution - the world's largest dairy production and development campaign. Dairy consumption in India has huge negative impacts on ethical, cultural, environmental, religious, economic and political issues. ARC provides many ideas and supports hundreds of people in their efforts to create a better world for animals.

Artificial coral reef in Bali
Christian Redl is a multiple world record holder in freediving/apnoea. Because he is so grateful to the ocean for the way he can live his life, he now wants to give something back. 7Oceans is Christian's association through which he brings attention to the 7 major issues facing the ocean. These include "shark finning", the plastic issue, coral bleaching, overfishing, ghost nets, the immense amount of shipwrecks on the ocean floor and oil drilling. 7Oceans is working on several projects to make these issues visible. Currently, Christian is working with Reef Village to build a new artificial coral reef off the coast of Bali. Where there was no reef anymore, there will soon be a new one. And this is exactly where SANUSPLANET supports with your help, because coral reefs mean species richness, are an important basis for the continuity of fish stocks, and furthermore they bind carbon dioxide and protect coastal cities.

Save elephants
The story of the Asian elephant is one of struggle and survival. The Save Elephant Foundation has been at the forefront of elephant protection in Asia for over two decades. Whether as a tourist attraction for elephant riding programs, in the logging industry, or as a source of ivory, elephants are in demand. Save Elephant Foundation's multi-faceted approach includes the rescue and rehabilitation of elephants and many other animals in need, education through sustainable ecotourism, protection of the natural environment, and support for local communities. Our support contributes a small portion of the cost of food and medical care for hundreds of elephants in Elephant Nature Park. The SANUSPLANET Foundation has already supported this NGO several times. The date indicated is for the latter donation transfer. The donation amount adds up from the individual donations since the beginning of the support.

Long-term protection of large-scale wildlife by supporting local communities
The IAPF - International Anti Poaching Foundation - was founded by Damien Mander in 2009 and has transformed a traditionally adversarial approach to conservation into an innovative, empowering and gender-sensitive model for protecting wildlife and habitats. Damien’s life change, from an Australian sniper for the Special Forces, to a vegan activist, highlights how much we humans can change our lives if only we care enough about the cause. The emotional encounter and the threat African’s animals face, transformed Damien’s heart. Elephants and rhinos are about to go extinct. These species have long been the target of poaching, mainly for the horn of a rhino, as well as for the ivory of an elephant tusk, as those are fetching enormous sums on the black market. Rangers who protect what is left are protecting wildlife with their own life. They are the real hearoes of our times and often don’t get the respect they deserve. Since Damien traines woman who have experienced suffering to become rangers, the whole project is running with a much bigger impact. Our 5.000€ donation covers the costs of one ranger woman to protect Africa’s wildlife and we are so proud to partner with this organization and to support this important cause. The SANUSPLANET Foundation has already supported this NGO several times. The date indicated is for the latter donation transfer. School meals and school desks for The Gambia
Bettina Schmidt's motto is: Capacity building. Bettina founded the association “Future for The Gambia” a few years ago after falling in love with this country and the people of The Gambia. About 1,300 people live in Keneba, who walk long distances every day to supply their families with water. Hardly any water also means it’s not possible to grow vegetables. There is widespread hunger in Keneba and there are hardly any jobs. Because of this, Bettina helps people to be able to grow their own crops through water towers with solar-powered pumps and makes access to education possible. The pandemic has hit particularly hard in countries where people are already living in poor conditions. Our donation provided a small amount of needed support in a time of need and we hope to continue to support Future for The Gambia in the future. The SANUSPLANET Foundation has already supported this NGO several times. The date indicated corresponds to the last transfer of donations. The amount of the donation is the sum of the individual donations since the beginning of the support.

Planting corals
Many people do not know how important corals are for an intact marine ecosystem. They provide shelter and food for many marine animals that cannot survive without their protection. Coral reefs are unique and self-sustaining ecosystems that play a crucial role in the tropical marine environment through their contribution to the food chain, their capacity for reef building and their important role in the carbon cycle. The protection and rehabilitation of coral reefs through Ocean Quest Global's scientifically proven methodology is based on a cost-effective and easy-to-implement method. This plays a big role because it gives many more people the opportunity to get involved in planting corals. With the support of the SANUSPLANET Foundation, a small motorized inflatable boat was purchased to help Anuar Abdullah, the founder of the organization, and his team restore destroyed coral reefs in various Malaysian areas, create new ones and at the same time ensure the protection of these reefs through patrols. The SANUSPLANET Foundation has already supported this NGO several times. The date indicated is for the latter donation transfer. Well for maasai community in Kenya
4.3 million Kenyans are currently affected by hunger. Worldwide droughts are getting longer every year and more intense as temperatures rise. Through Maggy's contacts, we learn weekly about the thousands of people dying of hunger and thirst in Kenya alone. It has not rained a drop in over 9 months in the farthest reaches of Kenya. 2.5 million animals died during the last drought alone, with this being the 5th continuous drought in Kenya. Maasai Patrick Oloomali Kotonto has been working for years on his permaculture garden, which he hopes will grow food for his community and save the animals from being eaten. What it takes, however, is water. Only with water can the vegetables in Patrick's and other gardens grow, as well as grass for the animals and hunger and thirst of people being satisfied. For this reason, the SANUSPLANET Foundation is very happy and grateful that with the help of the entire SANUSLIFE community, another well will be built. The SANUSPLANET Foundation has already supported this NGO several times. The date indicated corresponds to the last transfer of donations. Merano Vegan - Festival for animal rights and environmental protection
On September 24, 2023, the "Merano Vegan" festival will take place for the second time in South Tyrol. This festival is organized by South Tyrolean activists to draw attention to the many benefits of plant-based cuisine, and a vegan lifestyle in general. In the spirit of animal and environmental protection, there will not only be great market stalls, delicious food and cool music, but the festival will also provide a space for exchange and information. Many activists will give interesting lectures throughout the day, informing the audience about the necessity of animal and environmental protection. SANUSPLANET will also be there live and Maggy will talk about how important it is to learn more about the background of products before we pay for their production. Because many products, whether food, clothing or other things, are responsible for massive suffering in the animal world. As consumers, we can avoid this, which is exactly why it is so important to learn about the connections. If we understand them, we can choose a different way, change animals and our beautiful world positively with a new shopping consciousness.

Release and rescue center for orangutans
In 2007, Julia Cissewski and other scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig founded the association Orang-Utans in Not. During field research in Tanjung Puting National Park on Borneo and by visiting an orangutan captivity station in Pasir Panjang not far from the national park, they witnessed the catastrophic destruction of the rainforest in Borneo. Shocked by the suffering of the orangutans, they decided to protect and preserve the last wild orangutans and their habitat. €1,000 of our donation to this association was used to print their annual calendar for 2022. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this calendar will go to the sanctuary and the reintroduction projects. The remaining €2,000 is a direct donation to the association, which will be used partly for the sanctuary and partly to help the association, which is based in Germany, to continue its educational work in German schools. The SANUSPLANET Foundation has already supported this NGO on several occasions. The date indicated corresponds to the last transfer of donations. School education for 50 girls
The Love Union organization has been working in Cameroon since 2016 to provide humanitarian support to many people in need, as well as projects to protect nature and biodiversity. A world with better living conditions for all, especially the marginalized, and a more supportive environment for all people, are the cornerstones of Love Union. In Cameroon, there is a war with separatists who are fighting against the government troops to restore independence from Southern Cameroon. Because of this war, schools were closed and burnt down, girls were abducted and murdered, leading to an increasing number of girls out of school and teenage pregnancies. For many girls, the situation feels hopeless, which is why they often turn to drugs and prostitution. Due to the severe poverty, child labor is also not uncommon. The SANUSPLANET Foundation offers 50 girls from 7 different tribes the right to school education. Meanwhile, the SANUSPLANET Foundation has already guaranteed the third school year for 50 girls. The supported girls come from 7 different communities and are of primary and middle school age. Together with you we would like to secure the costs for the whole school time of these girls. This means that SANUSPLANET will continue to pay the school fees until these girls graduate from school.

Living farm for 300 animals
The small living farm "Progetto Cuori Liberi" in Sairano, Pavia, Italy, lovingly cares for 300 animals that have found a home on the farm. They include cows, ducks, chickens, sheep, goats, pigs and tortoises. On September 20, the public authorities raided the Cuori Liberi animal shelter with the aim of euthanizing 9 healthy pigs to prevent the spread of African swine fever. This virus is not dangerous to humans and cannot be transmitted by humans. However, to be on the safe side, these 9 pigs lived in isolation for a while and were in excellent health. Despite their healthy condition, they were killed by the authorities. Many activists were injured, some very seriously, when they peacefully stood in front of the animals to protect them. The police beat them, some activists ended up in hospital, others in prison. Half of the life farm was badly vandalized. To help the farm rebuild, our coordinator Maggy set up a fundraising campaign at the Merano Vegan Festival, where €500 was collected. This has now been transferred by SANUSPLANET to Progetto Cuori Liberi.
